Invisalign Vs Traditional Braces

Invisalign

  • Clear aligners are virtually invisible
  • Smooth comfortable plastic aligners
  • No irritation to gums or mouth
  • Aligners are removable for easy cleaning
  • Eat whatever you want
  • Change to new fresh aligners every 4 weeks
  • Less visits to the dentist- every 6 -8 weeks
  • Virtually no change to speech
  • Virtually pain free
  • See the results of your treatment before you even begin.

Braces

  • Requires brackets and wires which are clearly visible
  • Wires can poke and irritate mouth
  • Brushing and flossing require more effort
  • Many food restrictions- food can easily get stuck in or break the brackets & wires
  • Brackets can easily break or come loose affecting the course of treatment
  • More regular visits to the dentist(every 2-3 weeks)
  • Staining could affect the colour of the braces
  • Speech can be severely affected.
  • No preview of the completed treatment & therefore no guaranteed satisfaction with the results you receive.
  • Known to be quite painful and make teeth very sensitive

How Effective Is Invisalign

Patient Stories

Mikala's Story

One of my teeth really stuck out and I was absolutely paranoid about it. It was on my mind when speaking to somebody up close, when photographs were taken – I felt awful and wanted it fixed. But I thought I was too grown up for metal braces.

I would like to thank finest dentist at barkingside for making my experience of having 5 implants pain free and stress free. I still cant...
I'm extremely pleased with the wonderful work done on my teeth. I have my confidence back!
Many thanks to all of the Winchester team.
Thanks to Dr Stavros for his wonderful work, to Dr Simon for his kindness, to Liz, Elena and Jordan for being so welcoming and easy to talk to.
I couldn't have asked for more.
 Mary.

Invisalign Can Treat

Overcrowed teeth occur when there is simply a lack of room within your jaw for all your teeth to fit normally. When left untreated, overly crowded teeth can cause an incresed chance of gum disease as your teeth are harder to clean.
Widely spaced teeth occur when you have extra space within your jaw. This could be due to small sized teeth, abnormal growth of jaw bones, genetics, missing teeth and/or tongue protrusion. Spacing issues can cause some perio-pontal diseases including gingivitis and periodontitis, that, left untreated, can lead to tooth loss.
Crossbites occure when the upper and lower jaws are both misaligned. It usually causes on or more upper teeth to bite on the inside of the lower teeth, and can happen on both the front and/or the sides of the mouth. This issue can cause wear of the teeth, gum disease and bone loss.
Overbites occur when the upper teeth overlap significantly with the lower teeth. It's typically caused by either genetics, bad oral habits, or over development of the bone that supports the teeth. This issue can lead to gum problems or irritation, and/or wear on the lower teeth and can cause painful jaw and joint problems.
Underbites occur when the lower teeth protrude past the front teeth, usually caused by undergrowth of the upper jaw, overgrowth of the lower jaw, or both. It can also be caused by missing upper teeth. This issue can prevent the normal funtion of front teeth or molars which can lead to tooth wear.

OPG Panoramic X-Ray

As part of your consultation with Zeta Dental you will undergo a FREE Panoramic X-Ray to ensure that you are suitable for your the treatment you are seeking.

Panoramic radiography, also called panoramic x-ray, is a two dimensional (2-D) dental x-ray examination that captures the entire mouth in a single image, including the teeth, upper and lower jaws, surrounding structures and tissues. The jaw is a curved structure similar to that of a horseshoe. However, the panoramic x-ray products a flat image of the curved structure. It is typically set to provide details of the bones and teeth. Unlike a traditional intraoral x-ray where the film is placed inside of the mounth, the film for a panoramic x-ray is contained inside of the machine.
